Once the active rehab phase ends, many individuals still need some level of support. Our Support Workers foster long-term, stable relationships with the Brain Injury Survivor and offer the kind of support needed to manage residual impairments, day-to-day living issues and maximize the quality of life.
Each person living with ABI is unique, but there are 5 key areas that we can help with

Many clients want to get back to some sort of physical exercise. We work with the client to problem-solve ways around physical handicaps to ensure that people are as active as they are capable of being - with a workout partner!

Everybody needs a worthwhile occupation. When competitive employment is not an option we partner with our clients to help them discover new interests and aptitudes and form new personal narratives about preferred ways of living that include meaningful activity.

There are many reasons why social relationships are more difficult after an ABI. We explore those reasons with the client and their families and look for suitable opportunities for social interaction.

Many individuals have short fuses after an ABI. Some people lose the thread of a conversation and come become frustrated and anxious about making a good impression. Others may have trouble distinguishing what’s funny and whats not. We collaborate with clients to develop ways around these and other issues.

Clients, family and friends are concerned about safety in the community and at home. Our workers are skilled at identifying risks and devising safe ways of functioning in the community.
